clubbing
i don’t understand the hype over drinking. call me a prude, or a deprived teenager, but i honestly don’t understand the need to get alcohol rushing through your body, just to feel a sense of satisfaction and to fit into the crowd.
specifically, what i don’t understand is why do people go to means and lengths, simply to gain entries into a bar or a club, for the sake of booze and partying. granted it’s cool with all the strobe lights, where all the common people in the normal day feels like the centre of attention, and that all the underaged teenagers takes on the mask of being an adult, with no restrictions or whatsoever in the world. but at the end of the day, what is the point of getting home dead drunk, in the middle of the night after messing in a pool of sweat in the mosh pit with a hundred other people whom you have never (and will probably never) met in your whole life?
some underaged teenagers, (even if you’re 18 this year, but your birthday hasn’t passed), go to the extent of making fake IDs and borrowing their siblings/friends’ ICs just to gain entry. come to think of it, don’t you find it sad? ultimately, despite all your attempts to mix in the ‘matured’ crowd of ‘adults’, you’re still basically a kid who gains access through lies. why do people go through all the trouble to simply drink and party?
i’m not a goody-two-shoes who thinks that every one who does that is evil and should be discriminated or viewed upon through a colored lens. i’m simply saying that i do not understand the need to go through such troubles, just to enjoy a day with your friends. true friends don’t necessarily have to meet inside a club or wtv to feel involved in your life, and to actually be part of your memory. yes, it does enhance the whole time which you spend with your close friends, but i just don’t understand the need to go through all that trouble.
what if you can’t get into the club after all the trouble? you’re just gonna feel disappointed and start mopping over something which was never meant for you anyways. the make-up that all the girls pile on - how pretty are you actually if you need all that? and let’s face it, it’s all done in the name to gain attention and to look pretty on the photos. deny it as much as you want, it is every girl’s desire to look attractive in every way possible so that they can attract guys. many people might shirk away in abhor when i say this, but between girls, the distinctive ‘ranking’ between them is always based on who gets the most guys, who attracts the most (the badder, the better), and who looks the most desirable in their photos (cause everyone’s gonna visit your facebook profile first, no matter what).
so at the end of the day, i simply don’t understand why people must go through such trouble, and the need to marinate themselves, in the attempt to appear normal.
The beautiful thing about joining the band
Is that the days there never get old. Somehow, some way, the same topics resurface when we meet after a long time, and the connection never seems to fade.
